Spencer and Ashtin
June 6th, Spencer and Ashtin celebrated their one year anniversary. Because COVID messed up their plan to be married in the temple, they had a very small ceremony last year and on April 17th, they were finally able to be sealed for eternity in the Jordan River Temple.
I had many of the same feelings when Spencer got married that I did with Sam. It was exhausting, emotionally speaking. This time, it wasn't quite as dramatic because it's almost been a year of adjusting to this big change. Ashtin is so perfect for Spencer. The two of them are so good together. I'm lucky to have such strong and courageous young women join our family.
Ashtin took out her endowment on Tuesday, April 13th. Again, it was just our two families. Sam wasn't able to get work off for Ashtin's endowment so it was actually just me there and again, felt so lonely.
Their sealing day was beautiful. The weather was perfect. Sitting the sealing room with Sam and Cass was again, such an overwhelming moment. All the memories of where we have been, what we have survived, came crashing through my mind. I learn, over and over that you can feel both joy and something else not so joyful, at the same time. It's emotionally taxing but it happens. It happens to me all the time.
Another great moment, in the book of life. Here is their photo dump...

| Spencer with his mission buddies. Fun fact, his mission buddy on the far left, married Ashtin's sister last year! Spencer and Ashtin met on a dating app, not through his friend. |

| They had an old typewriter for people to write them a love note and hang it on the wall. It was darling. |
