A Year in Review
Is it too late to do a post about 2019? It feels like we are already so far into the new year that anything that happened in 2019 is just a view behind us in the side mirror of life.
The best part of 2019 was the two new girls that have become a big part of our family. Nothing official but who needs expensive rings to say they have each other's heart? I suppose that could always change but gosh, I hope not. I love Cass and Ash as much as I love my own kids. The boys are pretty goofy and in their own ways, celebrated Christmas with some, 'way out there' pictures.
Spencer has always been a jokester and he found a girl that is happy to go along with his goofy ideas. They found these thrift outfits and Shelbie did the photo shoot for them back in October! It cracks me up! They both look so funny!! I laugh everytime I see these.
Sam and Cass won the Ugly Christmas Sweater party we had. They came decked out from head to toe in matching tacky outfits.
These boys are so lucky to have found such sweet and fun loving girls. We will see what this year brings for them.
2019 was a busy year at work and many projects and clients really challenged me in ways I haven't been challenged before. I love what I do. I especially love my part time job writing health blogs for a women's health company. I had some interesting projects for the dome company I work for as well. It has definitely been a learning curve and has stretched me in many ways.
This year, I don't have any major goals set. I hope I can at least stay the course. I'm trying to organize my time better. I got a terrible head cold over the holidays and it forced me to slow down and take a couple of days off from work. It honestly was exactly what I needed...just a break. Too bad I had to be sick in order to experience the break. I want more of that..but not being sick. So, I'm changing up how I do business and even looking at switching gears a little in the kind of work I do.
I'm still working on the details so I'll have to wait and see how it all unfolds. One thing that has been discouraging is that this past year left me so worn out and exhausted, I haven't had the time I wanted to help those around me as much as I like. I have so many distant friends and acquaintances whose children are coming here to school and I have definitely fallen short in helping all those sweet kids with the things they need in the absence of their parents. I miss being able to help.
Tonight, I got to reconnect with some clients I had 4 years ago from Texas. They found me from a Google search on Designers and through a couple of phone interviews and sharing my weak portfolio with them, they hired me for their 3 million dollar cabin in Island Park. They are amazing people! We became such good friends and have stayed in touch over the years. Their daughter is a freshman this semester so I met up with them and got to meet their daughter. Their daughter is great and I left feeling so blessed to have even known them. They are so kind...salt of the earth kind of folks.
After meeting with them, I hurried to Idaho Falls to help an elderly woman in my ward get her grand daughter from the airport. We had some snow today and she was nervous to drive. I enjoyed getting to know her on the drive down and waiting around the airport. I laughed more with her than I have all year!
So...anyways...a long and winded way to say, I need more of that in my life and less stress about everything else!

I had to look at these again. All 3 of your kids are so awesome and hilarious. Spencer looks a little bit like Kip from Napoleon Dynamite here, but he is still better looking. :)
